SF Su(r)burban Politics
Yesterday, on my jog (just 3 more weeks to the Marathon!), my route took me through the high-rent neighborhood of Pacific Heights, where I had a Nancy Pelosi spotting. Nancy was exiting a house and the only way that I knew it was her was because there was a small Code Pink demonstration outside of the house.
The women demonstrators (about 4-5) reminded Nancy to stop funding the war in Iraq through sidewalk chalk drawings and by calling out to her directly - “Stop funding the war on Iraq, Nancy; “Stop the war for oil”; etc”
As I continued my run down the street, I observed a SF Su(r)burban Politics irony. It appears to me that Nancy travels in a *foreign* hybrid car. While this may be a popular political statement to help the environment, it appears that her “motorcade” could also use an environmental make over. 2 heavily armored Surburbans and a police Lincoln town car cruiser, not operating per California car pool limits (3 per car), diminished the environmental statement in my eye.
