Our neighborhood (Paris)
So we are all settled in our Parisian apartment. Here are some initial thoughts:
Close, really close, to many many sites on our must see list (3rd district)
The neighborhood appears to be in flux. Many cool bars and shops on the main drags and sex shops (peep show/video stuff) hanging on in between newer shops on the off shoots. Our walk toward the apartment inspired the random reflection: can you judge the quality if a neighborhood based on the quality of the sex shops? We live near the gold club in the city, like our ‘hood, and hope that others don’t judge our block by this tenant alone.
Close to the metro, but I learned today that Paris has 373 metro stops, so that might not be hard to do.
Really old looking. The flat is on the fourth floor off of a protected court yard. The ceiling beams are exposed and really sagging. Some of the beams are reinforced with metal plates.
This might be the ideal bachelor pad. 40 inch computer monitor, 70 inch projector tv, fridge stocked with beverages, candy galore, actual arcade machine, gigabytes on gibabytes of movies and music. It’s really over the top in a modern tech geek way.
