Our Dark Day(s)…
Just as Danae and I were starting to get acclimated to “life with twins and a two year old”, life threw us a big time curve ball. Friday night of last week the house was stricken by a vicious stomach flu… Sophie was actually sick a night earlier.
Chris threw up close to 50 times in a 7 hour period and as bad he felt he knew Danae was worse. Just 1 week removed from major abdominal surgery, Danae also threw up multiple times, but that was not the worst part - the advice nurse advised her not to eat for some time until her stomach settled, which also meant that she was unable to take her pain medication for 2 cycles… Grandma Jiles was also sick.
1 day later, Grandpa Jiles visited to the house and fell promptly ill. They say that which does not kill you makes you stronger. We say that we still feel pretty weak, but are thankful that the twins managed to survive this bout of illness in good health. We are all on the mend and look forward to a full recovery.
