Danae and Chris (and now Sophie Adei, Charlotte Grace, and Rowan Jiles ) live and play in Oakland, CA.
I haven’t received our actual CD of pictures yet, but I can’t wait to share these photos of our girls taken by the fabulous Monica Wharton since I saw the preview of them on Monica’s blog. Check them out!
After nap time on Easter, we all headed to Tilden Park to ride the steam train. This fabulous train ride offered full bay views!
On Friday, Sophie had a play date with her friend Andrew to dye and decorate Easter eggs. What did Mom learn? Two year olds have no interest in decorating Easter eggs (with stickers, etc) when they can dye, dye, and re-dye them. What else? Hard wood floors present a serious risk to the well-being of Easter eggs.
Check out Sophie’s finished product…quite artistic!
Tracking Boston
Chris will be traveling to Boston this weekend to compete participate in the 115th Running of the Boston Marathon on Patriot’s Day (April 18th). Sophie and the girls have been very supportive of this effort including customizing his running jersey :). Here are a few ways to follow his progress next Monday [Note: He is racing with the Bib # 4612]:
1. TV Coverage: TV Broadcasts: The race will be televised live in its entirety, locally in Boston on WBZ-TV (Channel 4). Please visit www.cbsboston.com, for more information and bonus coverage of the 2011 Boston Marathon.
The race will be shown nationally on Universal Sports (free) and online at www.UniversalSports.com ($4.99 fee in the United States)’
2. Online Updates: The B.A.A. will broadcast every 5-kilometer split to its web site.” This feature will not show up on their official site until race day. The B.A.A says, “The ‘face’ of the Boston Marathon website will change on race day and the process on how to enter the search will be clear.”

Our Dark Day(s)…
Just as Danae and I were starting to get acclimated to “life with twins and a two year old”, life threw us a big time curve ball. Friday night of last week the house was stricken by a vicious stomach flu… Sophie was actually sick a night earlier.
Chris threw up close to 50 times in a 7 hour period and as bad he felt he knew Danae was worse. Just 1 week removed from major abdominal surgery, Danae also threw up multiple times, but that was not the worst part - the advice nurse advised her not to eat for some time until her stomach settled, which also meant that she was unable to take her pain medication for 2 cycles… Grandma Jiles was also sick.
1 day later, Grandpa Jiles visited to the house and fell promptly ill. They say that which does not kill you makes you stronger. We say that we still feel pretty weak, but are thankful that the twins managed to survive this bout of illness in good health. We are all on the mend and look forward to a full recovery.
