Charlotte loves to snuggle.  In this photo she is resting her head on her sister and Rowan hasn’t started to pull her hair— so no one is crying yet.

Twins are 7 months! Sophie is 3!

There have been many firsts at CranleyCasa in the past month.   Here are important updates:

Sophie Adei

  • She is becoming a “little lady”, which means, playing dress up, pretending to be a fairy princess, and dancing.
  • More on dancing - She is in an “interpretive phase”..  We play a game where the parents call out an animal or an object and she interprets what the dance would look like.  Did you know that a bear dance and a Popsicle dance look very similar?  They do.  I know because I have seen them both.
  • She has memorized Peter Rabbit front to back.  The parents start reading each page, and she takes over to finish them.  This is mostly word for word - through the entire book.
  • Sophie still enjoys playing with her baby, named Darling.  Darling was only potty trained for one day because the best fun one can have with a baby is to change their diaper.

Charlotte Grace

  • She is crawling around army style, and enjoys to roll off things.
  • Charlotte is our snuggler and prefers soft pillows, a mom, a dad, even blankets.
  • Charlotte, while a snuggler, is not quite the best sleeper yet.  She enjoys only the freshest bottom and comfort several times through the night.
  • Charlotte always has a delightful smile for her parents.  Twinkle blue eyes.
  • Charlotte is a great eater, very willing to try all flavors presented.  She eats a lot of different types of solid food with no apparent favorite.

Rowan Jiles

  • As of last week, She has two front teeth!
  • She is also a very active crawler - a bit more of an explorer than her sister.   There is something about our home fireplace that calls to her indiana jones spirit.
  • Rowan is very vocal and loves to laugh.
  • She sleeps well and has already developed a preference for apple sauce.   We say this because she won’t eat things that do not match her expectation of sweetness delivered from apples.

All three girls are still learning what it means to share.   Or to say it another way, Mom and Dad are learning what it means to have three girls interested in playing with all of the same toys!  The twins follow Sophie around the house and love interacting with her.

The space between what is said

  • Chris: Uhm, are they both still awake?
  • Danae: Uhm, well, we have three. So which two were you talking about?
