Sophie’s first slice of Tony’s World Famous Pizza.   Chris has traveled the US (okay, mostly New York, Seattle, and San Diego) in search of the best pizza and this restaurant sets the bar at the top of the list in the Bay Area and the Nation.   Learn more about this great new SF pizza house here:  www.tonyspizzanapoletana.com

Other SF favorites include:

1.  Tony’s Pizza Napoletana (Gift from God, thick and thin crust )

2a. Little Star (St. Louis style thick crust)

2b. Paxtis (Old school Chicago)

3.  Guspare (Old school thin crust)

4.  Small Shed Flat Breads (New Age thin crust)

5a.  Delphina Pizza (classic thin crust)

5b.  CheeseBoard (Hippy Pizza that makes sense)

On 12/06/2009, Chris attempted and suceeded in qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

My running journey started innocently enough in December, 2007 with much encouragement and teasing from Danae.  Two years passed, many happy and unhappy miles run (In 2009, I ran over 2200 miles to train for CIM), and a few awesome Kstar friendships later, he accomplished his goal.

I value running for the stress relief, friendship, but more importantly to help train my “sprinter mind” the value of long term planning.   The CIM race itself had many mini-adversities:  34 degree starting temperature; broken running watch;  being caught multiple times by the 3:10 group over the last 5 miles.   A sense humor pulled me through and the mission was accomplished with a final time of 3:09:34!

This year, our family traveled to San Diego and the Imperial Valley for Thanksgiving.  The time to reconnect with Family and Friends was needed.   Sophie loved meeting her cousins and having her first taste of Camachos!

The reflection of the trip reminds me that it is sometimes to easy to take our relationships with family for granted.   We wish all of our friends and family the blessings of good company and laughter over this holiday season.

Our prayers especially go out to Tony and his family as he continues to win his battle against breast cancer.

Sophie got her first haircut this weekend.  It was going well until Sophie realized that someone was doing something to her and the fancy red cape was not just for fun.

Luckily she recovered easily and now has a snazzy new coif!

On Sophie’s birthday she received her very own new stroller from Grandma and Grandpa Jiles, along with a lesson on how to push her baby in it.  Over the course of the past six weeks we have watch her step-by-step getting the hang of it!  From front to sideways, and from knees to feet, she has gradually figured it out.
