I heard a joke last week at Sophie’s Day Care: Real Estate is soo expensive in San Francisco that people have a tendency to buy an infinite amount of 20 dollar gadgets small enough to cram away in tiny holes of a tight living space and just only useful enough to distract people from their otherwise “house” poor lives.
Well, @cranleycasa, while we might have a few too many gadgets, we tend to notice our expanding waist lines more. I mean, we really have a habit of finding and trying some of the most over the top tasting and priced treats offered on the west coast! This weekend’s discoveries include:
Three Twins Ice Cream (http://threetwinsicecream.com/) - Organic, earth friendly ice cream shop with a great selection of dairy free flavors! We tried a scoop of the following: rice based peppermint (Chris’s Favorite), Cinnamon (Sophie’s favorite), and a great tasting mocha flavor (Danae’s favorite). This ice cream experience went better than our Humphrey Slocumbe experience a few months ago (www.humphryslocombe.com).
Four Barrel Coffee (http://www.fourbarrelcoffee.com/) - Really good cup of coffee with excellent service!!! They have an IOU system, super friendly servers—that I hope reaps them great tips and no abuse (we were a bit short on cash that day)… 1 excellent cup of coffee, 1 good latte, and 1 Maple Bacon doughnut later and we were, how to say, set for our hike on Sunday!
And lastly, the family was famished after the Alemere falls hike/run on Sunday. We tried a yelp+ rated Taqueria called Little Chihuahua (http://thelittlechihuahua.com/). This place is also surfing in front the eco-organic curve. The food and salsas were okay and price comparably to Chipotle. The tortilla soup was a stand out however, with a great chicken stock broth and plenty of good flavor. It’s Cranley Casa approved - Ole!
